Veda Johny is an educator of 25 years. She enjoys traveling with her family, cooking, and communicating with the deaf through sign language. Veda has traveled and visited all but 10 states. She moved to Jackson 8 years ago and gained the desire to work in the community. After months of feeding the homeless weekly, she created the SOUL. SOUL, a non-profit organization, serves the homeless with clean clothes, weekly cold and hot breakfasts, hygiene care packages, and new or slightly used tennis shoes. Veda's work with SOUL has provided many opportunities to collaborate with community groups and organizations including Citizenville.
